Soneva Jani, consisting of five islands, lies north of Malé in an almost six-kilometer private lagoon called Edufaaru in the Noono Atoll. It belongs to the Soneva group, together with the sister hotel Soneva Fushi as well as the new luxury yacht Soneva in Aqua. The resort is reachable in about 40 minutes by watercraft, in 60 minutes by speed boat from Soneva Fushi or by Soneva in Aqua in connection with a half-day cruise. Facilities & Activities:
As in the sister hotel Soneva Fushi, service and quality is very important. Everything is built on stilts, the observatory as well as the lobby, a restaurant, a bar, the spa and the kids club, which are together in a large building. Various water sports and excursions are offered. On the main island of Medhufaru is currently the Cinema Paradiso, further villas and restaurants are planned. The Gathering, the central point of the resort with restaurants and bars and a choice of places to sit. And there’s also the largest observatory in the entire Maldives with a resident astronomer who will illuminate the night sky as you dine. Guests can choose between bikes or a golf buggy to reach the tennis court and deserted beaches of the main island while a small speed boat shuttles between the four untouched islands in the lagoon. Soneva Jani has plenty to offer in terms of activities and experiences. Join in on nature walks or cycling around the islands, or enjoy an array of water sports. The Soleni Dive Centre provides fantastic diving in small groups, so guests can benefit from the instructors and their knowledge of the local marine life. The staff are warm and attentive, here the guest is really guest.

Villas:
Soneva Jani features 24 overwater bungalows, starting from one-bedroom villas to four-bedroom, designed in a modern style. Each has a private pool, a catamaran net for lounging, an open-air bathroom and a personal butler. All Water Villas are located in the middle of the lagoon and are decorated with bright, natural materials. A special feature is the main bedroom, directly above the bed, the roof can be opened electrically, allowing an unobstructed view of the starry sky. The villas also have an open bathroom, a walk-in minibar, three dining areas, a roof terrace and a terrace with a pool and direct access to the lagoon. Other highlights include a suprise swing, bicycles and in some villas even a waterslide from the upper floor.

Dining:
Culinary, the Soneva Jani offers a wide variety of fancy dishes from different country kitchens and creative cuisine in exceptional locations. At The Gathering, at the heart of the resort, morning fruits and juices are on offer, with pizzas, tandoors and freshly caught seafood later in the day. So Engaging offers a seat at the Chef’s table for a private dining experience and a mystery menu for just five guests. So Starstruck is a small dining area in the Observatory, where just four tables have screens with links to the telescope for a truly celestial experience. Alternatively, enjoy lunch on a private beach and a meal made up of simple ingredients that the Chef is able to catch or pick that day.
