Set on Hawaii Island’s exclusive Kona-Kohala Coast,  the Four-Seasons Resort Hualalai is a perfect oceanfront resort that captures the essence of Hawaiian design, culture and tradition. This showpiece oceanfront resort captures the essence of Hawaiian design, culture. The pristine Four Seasons, the only five-pearl property on the Big Island, is unlike any other resort on the Kohala Coast. Lush and beautifully landscaped grounds surround private bungalow-style rooms and suites tucked along winding paths throughout the large property.

Location:
Secluded on a private beach along the Kona-Kohala Coast, the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is 7 mi (11 km) from the Kona International Airport and 21 mi (34 km) from the Holualoa Village.

Facilities & Activities: 
A Hawaiian Cultural center with artists-in-residence offers courses for all ages, from traditional Hawaiian crafts, and dance, to music. Five swimming pools spread across the oceanfront resort include Kings Pond for snorkeling with tropical fish, Seashell infinity pool, Seashell toddler pool & beach, Beachtree and the adults only Palm Grove tranquility pool. A lap pool is located at The Spa. Fitness facilities include indoor/outdoor cardio areas, a rock-climbing wall and eight tennis courts. The Spa, with 18 treatment rooms, also has eucalyptus steam, dry sauna, and a cold plunge along with an apothecary bar for personalized spa ingredients. At Hualalai Spa the healing traditions of Hawaii are honored and a full complement of salon and skin care services, body treatments and massage therapies are available.
Jack Nicklaus designed the oceanfront golf course, which is built on black-lava rock.

Rooms & Suites:
This hotel boasts 243 guestrooms including 51 Suites and 3 Villas, all with simple Polynesian-style teak wood furnishings and John Kelly paintings. Beds have cream-colored linens and bamboo headboards with a white-linen partial canopy. Bathrooms have separate soaking tubs and showers with L’Occitane toiletries, bathrobes, and slippers. Two chairs with a granite table and one lounge chair separate the beds from the lanais, furnished with tables and chairs.

Dining: 
Guests of this Four Seasons Resort can dine at the 2 beachfront restaurants or golf clubhouse restaurant and enjoy drinks and ocean views at the 2 lounges. Cuisine is also a focal point with an emphasis on fresh, sustainable island fare of which 75% comes locally from the island at ‘Ulu Ocean Grill + Sushi Lounge, Beachtree and Hualalai Grill.

Our Opinion: Amazing hotel.  Great service, 4 good restaurants, nice pools, beautiful rooms, good gym.  It’s expensive, but I had to say it, but totally worth the money. It’s never crowded and the grounds are so well kept.
