Opened in 2008, the hotel is the first five-star hotel in Bhutan. Taj Tashi Bhutan is located 6.4 km from Buddha Point Thimphu. Paro International Airport is 59.5 km or an approximate one hour drive from the hotel. The location allows guests to explore the sights and shops of the capital city of Bhutan.

Facilities and Activities:
Guests can unwind in The Jiva Spa, featuring a spa menu of Indian healing therapies. The guest can enjoy the heated indoor swimming pool or the 24-hour fitness centre with Life Fitness brand equipment. The concierge desk and business centre are available to assist guests and as well a currency exchange and ticket services are available for guests’ convenience.

Rooms& Suites:
The 66 spacious rooms and suites overlook the exquisite mountains and township, and capture the essence of Bhutanese art and architecture. The guest can choose between six different room categories. All rooms offer a Pillow menu, amenities from Forest Essentials, a lit makeup mirror, hair dryer & scale floor warmers & towel heaters, Abraham and Thakore bathrobes, suit & skirt padded hangers, bath menu & bath salts. They have a mini bar and rollaway or extra beds are available on additional charge on a per night basis. Large flat-screen TV and DVD players are placed in all rooms. All rooms are non-smoking rooms. They have dual-line telephones with voicemail & data capabilities. They offer a daily housekeeping & turndown service and complimentary newspapers. The guest has the opportunity of 24-hour in-room dining and 24-hour laundry service with one hour pressing – and iron & ironing board in all rooms.

Dining:
Each of the hotel’s four restaurants focus on a different aspect of Bhutan’s vibrant Mahayana Buddhist culture. Unwind with a drink at Ara, the bar that gets its theme from the Dramneyn, a Himalayan folk music instrument. Savour Bhutan’s most popular dish, Ema Datshi, and other Bhutanese cuisine at Chig-Ja-Gye.
