Hiking, white water rafting and cycling are all activities available through Uma. Nearby attractions like Punakha Dzong (a temple complex) and the Divine Madman’s Temple are also easily accessible from Uma. Despite its small size, Uma Punakha still has a COMO Shambhala spa offering traditional holistic therapies such as hot stone baths to relax after time exploring the valley. The Uma Punakha has one restaurant with options to eat outside on the terrace with spectacular views. All rooms have dramatic views overlooking the Punakha valley, and the Mo Chu as it winds its way through the rice fields and orchards, and the rolling forested mountains beyond. Natural light submerges the interior rooms through floor-to-ceiling windows. Uma Punakha includes several inviting room features for each guest, which includes air-conditioning, Egyptian cotton sheets, complimentary bottled water, an electronic personal safe, a minibar, coffee and tea-making facilities, umbrellas, yoga mats, hairdryers, bathroom amenities, and Wi-Fi access.
Dining:
Uma Punakha has one restaurant. Bukhari, named for a Bhutanese fireplace is one of the best restaurants in Bhutan. The Bukhari which serves both local and international cuisine and presided over by the Indonesian head chef Dewa Wijaya. Much of the produce comes from local farmers which means we benefit from fresh vegetable, fruit and dairy products every day. Guest loved the little terrace, where you have the option of eating al fresco on warmer evenings. When it is colder, they can set up heaters right next to your table, or you can retreat to the inner dining room.
