The Pavilions, Phuket, Thailand
On a jungle-clad hillside in southwest Phuket,Thailand, the Pavilions is a luxury 49-villa retreat made for honeymooners and romance-seeking couples. The bar, 360˚, attracts the island’s best-dressed inhabitants, who flock at sundown for the calm view, then stay sipping colorful cocktails late into the warm night. And the staff lives up to the hotel’s motto, “No tan lines, no interruptions,” delivering service without a sound. A secluded hilltop sanctuary, yet conveniently located just 20 minutes’ drive from the airport, Patong and Phuket. The Pavilions is one of Asia’s most romantic adults-only resorts.
Facilities & Activities:
For active types, the hotel provides a range of daytime activities, including snorkeling, scuba diving, golf and elephant treks. For beach time there’s a shuttle that makes the five-minute trip down to the sandy beach throughout the day. For many guests, however, there is little need to leave the villas’ comfortable confines. Spa pleasures are a seamless way of life at The Pavilions, Phuket. Your villa is a private spa sanctuary where we indulge you with heavenly treatments designed to revive, refresh and pamper. The resort’s most popular spot, however, is 360˚, a sleek hilltop bar with unbroken ocean views.
Perched atop one of Phuket’s highest points, each of its 49 pool villas is utterly private and lavishly spacious. Each of the five types of villas offers something special and unique, along with the intimate luxury of your own private swimming pool. Irresistibly inviting, you’ll find it hard to leave and, with the option of in-villa spa treatments and dining, you won’t have to. Choose from Ocean View Villas offering azure vistas or Spa and pool pavilions with attached couple’s treatment and steam room, each with a private pool for sybaritic skinny dipping. The hillside villas feel like private tropical homes thanks to high, pitched ceilings, woven organic fiber furnishings, indigenous fabrics and collectible arts and local crafts. For guests who prefer not to leave their rooms, the kitchens allow in-room dining preparations and the bar is refilled daily with decadent sweet treats, drinks and plenty of fresh tropical fruit. French doors with floor-to-ceiling windows frame tropical scenes and make it easy to slip straight out of bed and into the private swimming pool.
There are 3 onsite restaurants: the main restaurant, the Plantation Club, which is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea; The 360, serving drinks and tapas-style plates alongside views to die for; and the pool bar, Eastlands which serves snacks and Japanese-influenced lunches, as well as drinks. A lot of guests take advantage of the private dining and eat on the terrace of their villa or pavilion.
Many wonderful hotels on Phuket, but this is our favourite so far for a complete getaway. Tongue in cheek decor and complete relaxation. It’s really a couples resort but it’s also fine for two very good friends to enjoy. Close to the airport, brilliant spa treatments, wonderful breakfast, generally high standard of food and drink and spacious modern villas.
